The University of Texas at Austin-Petroleum Extension (PETEX) offers a 3.5-day Petroleum Fundamentals course in the D.C. Metro Area. This course covers the basics of petroleum, starting with industry terminology, geology and seismic exploration. Reviews land and offshore drilling, production, storage, refining, transportation, and operating procedures upstream, midstream, and downstream. Addresses security, economics and regulatory concerns with a global focus.

Please note: Registration for this course is open and limited to government personnel or contractors who have the necessary clearances to access the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s Springfield offices.
